Move, Add, Change (MAC) Request
To enhance our ability to plan, provide space needed by businesses within facilities managed by NCAL Regional Building Operations, and to respond in the event of an emergency, it is important that we account of the working locations of every staff member, whether they are designated as seat assigned, mobile or telecommuter.

What is a MAC?
MAC stands for Move, Add, Change, and in this context, it refers to changing the status of a person in space management system (kSpace). Examples of status changes are adding a new person to seat-assigned, mobile or telecommuter, moving a person from seat-assigned to mobile or vice-versa, and a person leaving the organization.
When should a MAC be entered into the Space Request Tool?
Anytime a staff member’s work location or work status changes, a request needs to be input to Archibus so that the change may be recorded in the database.
Move – An existing staff member changes status to seat assigned (AKA anchor), mobile or telecommuter.
Add – A new hire is being onboarded to a seat assignment, mobile or telecommuter.
Change – An existing staff member (seat assigned, mobile or telecommuter) is leaving KP.
What types of requests can I make in the Space Request Tool?
Add Space - When your department needs more space (e.g. storage, conference, team room, etc.).
Repurpose Space - When your department wants to change how a space is currently being used (e.g. conference > office, exam room > lounge). A Minor Work Order or Office Furniture Modification ServiceNow request may need to be created if the work is extensive.
Move a Person - When an employee is moving to a new workstation or facility. Information is updated in kSpace when the request is completed. The Moves Coordinator in the originating facility will facilitate the move.
New Hire - Adding a new employee to a space. Information is updated in kSpace when the request is completed. Please contact Security for Badge access.
Move Furniture/Equipment - When you need to move furniture or equipment with the assistance of movers. The Moves Coordinator in the originating facility will facilitate the move.
Person Leaving - When an existing employee is leaving KP. Information is updated in kSpace when the request is completed.
I need to move a group of employees?
In the Space Request Tool, select Add Space.
Space for 6 or more employees will be reviewed by the Regional Space Planning Committee. If approved, you will be provided details on where your group will be located. You will then create a Move A Person request for each individual being relocated.
